Roquefort Pear Canape's

Sometimes the simplest combinations make for the most elegant and savory appetizers. These simple appetizers mix sweet and salty flavors with the piquant flavor of Roquefort cheese and the crunch of walnuts. You can use your favorite bleu cheese in place of the Roquefort, pecans in place of the walnuts, and apples, or a mixture of apples and pears in place of the pears.

Ingredients

16 ounces - Roquefort cheese
3/4 cup - heavy cream
1 cup - chopped toasted walnuts
4 - large ripe red pears

Instructions

Mix together the Roquefort and heavy cream in a small bowl. Add the walnuts and mix well. Chill until ready to serve. Cut each pear into 12 slices. Spread about a tablespoon of the Roquefort mixture over each pear slice. Serve immediately.

Tips

Quick : This recipe can be made much faster by simply placing the Roquefort mixture in a decorative bowl and serving the pear slices along side. Place a few canape's knives along side to allow easy spreading.
