Ingredients4 cups - shelled walnuts, whole pieces or halves1/2 cup - sugar - Vegetable or peanut oil Instructions1. In medium saucepan, bring 8 cups water to a boil. Add walnuts, return to a boil, and cook for 1 minute.2. Rinse nuts in colander under hot water. Drain well. Transfer to small bowl and add sugar. Toss well. 3. In heavy skillet, heat 1-inch oil to 350 degrees. Add half the walnuts and fry for 4 to 5 minutes, until crisp. With slotted spoon, remove nuts to sieve to drain. Sprinkle lighty with salt and mix gently to separate pieces. 4. Repeat with remaining nuts. Place on sheets of waxed paper to cool. Preparation TimeQuickNumber of Servings4 cups | ||
